UPDATED: Emergency services are this morning (Monday) attending a road traffic collision on Middle Road on the outskirts of Newport.
Three ambulance crews and Police are currently working at the scene near to Betty Haunt Lane.
It is understood at least one male has received injuries in the incident, which occurred around 08:00 and has involved at least two vehicles.
The road currently remains open, however motorists are advised to avoid the area.
A closure is likely to come into place for the safe recovery of the vehicles involved.
UPDATE @ 10:28 – One male has been taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries, it has been confirmed.
The collision, involving a Ford Sierra and a Kia Carens, has now been cleared however motorists are advised to take care in the area due to possible debris on the carriageway.
