The diversion route will be signed at the time of closure. Reasonable facilities will be provided to allow access to adjacent premises while the road is closed.

The closure went into force at 10:50 hours on 6th May 2020 and will remain in place for a maximum period of five days or until the works are complete, whichever is sooner.

The lack of maintenance over the years show Southern Water care more about profits than service, they must know how old most water pipes are, and when they are due to be replaced.

However, they simply wait for them to collapse before anything is done.

It’s the same with the electricity supply network.
Seemingly lots of failures in the system of late. How about ALL of the utility suppliers actually doing some replacement and renewal of their infrastructure instead of repeatedly patching it up when bits break?
They were all very keen to take on the various supply services when they were offered for privatisation, and are all very happy to endure that dividends are paid to their shareholders.
Sorry, you are responsible for major infrastructure supplies, do something about keeping them up-to date!!
