The Island’s fleet of gritters will be deployed to treat the road network later on this evening (Christmas Day), as another cold night is in store.
Island Roads says that its gritters will be mobilised from Stag Lane on a full salt run, on the usual routes, from 19:00 tonight.
The mercury is set to drop as darkness falls, with road surfaces temperatures sitting at around 0c overnight.
Gritters are also deployed on Christmas Eve.
A spokesperson for Island Roads has said:
“Please take additional care where you are on the network.
“Have a safe and happy Christmas”.
