UPDATED: Coastguard Rescue officers from Bembridge and Ryde are this afternoon (Thursday) assisting the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service to safely extract a patient from a difficult location in the East Wight.
A woman is understood to have fallen near to Priory Bay, St Helens in amongst woodland however, due to the remote location, paramedics have requested the assistance of HM Coastguard to extract the female from her current position.
UPDATE – The 51-year-old female from London has been carried around 1/4 mile to an awaiting ambulance by HM Coastguard after suffering a suspected broken ankle. She has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital, Newport.
Meanwhile on the outskirts of East Cowes, The Needles Coastguard Rescue Team have this afternoon responded to an elderly gentleman who fell off a boat in a boat yard on Folly Lane, Whippingham (pictured right).
The man has been rushed to St Mary’s Hospital in Newport by land ambulance. The Coastguard Rescue team have since left the incident.
