Reports are coming through to Island Echo this lunchtime that Freshwater Lifeboat, tasked by Solent Coastguard, are assisting Police with an ongoing incident in the Alum Bay area.
Hampshire Constabulary’s Marine Police Unit RIB ‘Preventer’ is also heading to the scene, near to The Needles.
UPDATE: Hampshire Constabulary have now confirmed that the body of a man was discovered in the bay at around 12:00 today.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
