An agoraphobic East Cowes man, ordered to pay just £11 compensation by magistrates, shouted “get me the f**k out of this gaff” as his hearing concluded at the courts last Friday (7th February).
Mark Booth-Pain, of Vectis Road, pleaded guilty to a single charge of theft from a shop after stealing 4 bottles of Henry Weston cider from the Co-Op in Ryde last November.
Serena Edwards, prosecuting, told the court that Booth-Pain had been approached by the manager of the Anglesea Street shop on 28th November, after being spotted taking 4 bottles of cider.
Boot-Pain said he was going to steal and simply walked out the door without paying.
An unrepresented Booth-Pain explained to the bench that he had been let out of prison in August but was struggling, suffering from ADHD, OCD and agoraphobia. He admitted he was alcohol dependent and terrified of being outside, asking for the help of the court.
He said he took the alcohol as he was worried he would have a fit if he didn’t drink.
Magistrates, bounded by their guidelines, ordered Booth-Pain – who receives the higher rate Personal Independence Payment – to pay £11 compensation.
Disgruntled by the lack of help being offered, he said he was ‘screaming for help’ before shouting ‘get me the fuck out of this gaff’. He was let out of the dock and proceeded to slam the court doors as he exited the courtroom.
He gets the highest rate for pip, isn’t that around one thousand pound a month? Free council tax and rent too, thus, he could afford to pay for private treatment for his long list of alphabetical illnesses like ocd and adhd and lgbgt also probably the ymca.
Prison needs to be made tougher so this type of person doesn’t want to reoffend just to go back inside where there is free sex and drugs.
Take away their TV and luxurious lifestyle inside. Give them concrete cells with no bedding and hard labour.
Spot on Brian.
These poncers are the ones causing the Governments ”Black hole”, which we are all copping to repair. Scrounging more free handouts than a workman could even dream of earning, yet never a question asked. As for tougher prisons, that is how they used to be, but the do gooders and hand ringers stopped it, along with the borstals, like the one that used to be in Yarmouth.
I have heard it said, that you would NOT want to go back in there. You are better off being a smack head these days and a scum bag. They are better looked after and have more rights and priorities than us.
The blackhole is a load of b@ll@cks, just an
excuse to raise taxes.
As for the so called workman, it is well
known that the majority of them don’t declare
their earnings, many get paid cash for the work
they carry out.
When the country goes cashless, workmen will
be Fcuked.
Enjoy your perks while you still can
Lol
