Shanklin and Sandown golfers braved icy conditions to play in festive events.
Shanklin and Sandown Ladies’ Christmas Cracker competition was played on 6th December.
The 9-hole Texas Scramble was won by Jenny Domoney, Jean Munds, Susan White and Bev Whorwood scoring a nett 28.
The Christmas Mixed Foursomes at Shanklin and Sandown Golf Club was played on Sunday 11th December.
The weather forecast threatened freezing temperatures and rain and managed to deliver both. The competition was shortened to 9 holes.
Undaunted, the teams took to the course, many wearing festive garb, and all vying for the much-prized trophies.
The winners on countback with 17 points were past Captains Bill Foss and Connie Huntington. Taking second place were Roy Truman and Christine O’Brien.
Nearest the pin on the 9th was won by Paul Gardner for the men, with Brenda Keyte taking the prize for the ladies.

Following the competition the ladies enjoyed Christmas Dinner, a game of Irish Bingo, a quiz and then waited with bated breath for the raffle for the deluxe Christmas Hamper to be drawn.
