10 ladies took to the course to contest the Royal Isle of Wight Medal on Sunday (27th April).
The Royal Isle of Wight Medal is played for annually by the ladies of Shanklin & Sandown Golf Club who have either won, or have come 2nd, in a medal competition throughout the preceding year.
It dates from 1882 and was gifted to Shanklin & Sandown, together with other memorabilia, when the Royal Isle of Wight Golf Club closed in 1961.
The winner was Christine Smith with a nett 67. The runner up was Ladies’ Captain Lorrie Hawkins with a nett 70 and – taking 3rd place – was Christine O’Brien, nett 71.
