CHRIST THE KING YEAR 10 TEAM TAKE U15 HAMPSHIRE CUP WIN

Mr Mwanmuka with the Cup

Christ the King College’s Year 10 football team are celebrating a triumphant win this week having secured the Under 15 Hampshire Cup.

The Island side travelled to Aldershot Football Club on Monday (13th May) to take on the determined Salesian College.

The boys showed great resilience to come back from 2-0 down to draw the game 2-2, with goals from Adam Voller and George Humphries. This took the match to penalties.

With Archie Chambers standing firm in goal, nothing could separate the teams until Archie made a fine save with his feet to put them in the driving seat. Caleb Neale stepped up with confidence to slot home the winning penalty.

Thanks has been given Mr Mwamuka for without his passion and belief this win would not have been possible. Thanks also goes to Mr Haydon and Mr Gale for supporting the Year 10 team throughout the Cup journey.
