Firefighters responded to a kitchen fire at a property in Newport earlier this afternoon (Friday).
2 appliances were mobilised to Drill Hall Road when it was reported that a fire had broken out in the kitchen of a residential address.
It was soon discovered that a chopping board left on the stove had caused the alert. The fire was out on arrival.
Ventilation was carried out to rid smoke from the property and firefighters issued not only advice, but smoke alarms too.
