Chilton Lane in Brighstone has been closed to enable Southern Water to carry out emergency repair works.
The works are taking place outside ‘Khela’.
Motorists are being diverted via Main Road, Hunny Hill, Brook Road and Hoxall Lane.
The road has been closed since Thursday but has only just been advised by Island Roads.
