A convicted child rapist incarcerated at HMP Isle of Wight has practically escaped any punishment after pleading guilty to assaulting a prison officer.
Robert Ormrod, 49, who was jailed in 2016 for the rape of a young girl over a period of 7 years, now identifies as Rebecca Louise Ormrod and appeared in court in a frock. In fact, Ormrod has appeared in court via video link several times in recent weeks – walking out of one hearing altogether.
Ormrod first appeared in court on 19th November charged with 1 count of assaulting an emergency worker on 8th June this year. However, the case was adjourned when the serving prisoner walked out of the video room and failed to return, but not before suggesting a change of plea. She felt the victim statement was false, according to solicitor Barry Arnett.
A second hearing on 3rd December saw details of the offence read out. The prosecution said that back in June of this year, Ormrod was on constant watch due to concerns around self-harm. The prison officer situated outside her cell realised that the observation panel had been blocked and entered the cell at Albany men’s prison. He was met by a barrage of abuse and told to ‘fuck off’ by Ormrod, before being spat at.
A victim impact statement stated that it was the first time the prison officer had been spat at in 14 years of working within the prison service.
The hearing was adjourned until 17th December as Ormrod’s legal representation was not present.
Ormrod, who has been living as a woman for 3 years and changed her name by deed poll, appeared in court again on 17th December and was sentenced with a guilty plea given.
Magistrates handed Ormrod a £200 fine and ordered her to pay £85 costs with a £34 surcharge. However, due to being a serving prisoner with no financial means of paying, she was sentenced to 7 days in prison in lieu of a financial penalty – but the 7 days will be served concurrently to her 20-year stretch behind bars.
So where’s justice or compensation for prison officer – basically got away with it and by walking away from earlier Court hearing seems can do what IT likes , how many more officers or Vulnerable inmates will it abuse in 20yrs ?.
IF I were the abused prison officer, I would ensure that at any given chance I would ensure my revenge yet tell no-one, even my best friends.
It would pay for at least that act, if not the countless disgusting other vile things it has inflicted upon others in its all too long a life.
The ministry of justice should stop segregating the prison population.
All the so called vulnerable people (sex offenders) which hmp IW cater for should not be left to there own devices and be allowed to live amongst there own kind. Mix it up and let them worry about getting a beating from a local lag, instead of sending the local lags to hmp Winchester to be housed with the (normal) prison population.
Then they might get a bit of what they deserve on a daily basis,and be to scared to come out of there cell.
As is the way that it should be.

this thing is doing all of this for attention, as a way of filling the empty and meaningless void that is its life.
copy the americans – put a spit hood on it, when removing it from its cell and in cuffs. Only allow it out for one hour a day, in isolated fresh air, then lock it back up – no talking to it, nothing and serve its food through a hatch in the door – no conversations.
leave it endure that routine until it is dead – then burn it.

Absolutely disgusting behaviour, solitary confinement, bread and water no privileges. Us tax payers have to keep this excuse for a human being alive.
Should be ‘erased’ the sooner the better!!
Why do we continue to experiment and test on animals? Theres a whole load of lab rats readily available in our prisons.

These horrible cases for human beings have more rights and privileges than ordinary people and whereas years ago they would have served their sentences in constant fear and trepidation with minimal consideration for their pathetic lives they now know that they are almost untouchable. The staff that have to deal with them are totally disillusioned and deserve congratulations for the job they do and need the knowledge that the law fully protects them rather than these waste of spaces.
All the dressing up as a Woman business is just a major distraction from the heinous crimes he has done !
