CHARTER VESSEL TOWED TO HARBOUR AFTER MECHANICAL BREAKDOWN

bembridgernlitowbadweather2Bembridge RNLI were tasked to launch at just gone 15:45 this afternoon (Monday) to assist a 10.5m charter angling boat with 8 persons on board that had suffered a mechanical failure.

The All Weather Lifeboat (ALB) Frank and Anne Wilkinson reached the casualty vessel ‘Shaca II’ at anchor in St Helens Roads at just after 16:00. After the RNLI’s mechanic was unable to resolve the problem, a tow was set up to take the angling boat back to Langstone Harbour, arriving at 17:00.

The ALB returned to Bembridge and was rehoused by 17:45.
