Music fans who headed to Sunset Sessions at Blackgang Chine earlier this month got more than they bargained for when headline act Nathan Dawe took to the stage. During his headline set, he paused to say:
“I’ve got a brand new song out next week with my best friend Joel Corry, and this week we are currently filming the music video for it. Are you guys alright to be in it? Is that OK?”.
Delighted event goers followed his instructions to put their lights on their phone and hold them in the air, and danced to an exclusive preview of his new track ‘Higher’, with Sacha and Joel Corry, which is to be released this Friday (23rd August). At the end of his set, Nathan jumped down from the stage to greet and take photos with fans. One lucky guest Laura said:
“I couldn’t believe it when he got off stage and came towards us. His set was amazing, he was a lovely guy, and hopefully you’ll see us in the music video”.
The event was the second in the Sunset Session series, adult-only DJ events hosted on the clifftops of Blackgang Chine, and was supported by Capital Dance DJ Zofia, house DJ Jordan Peak, and island favourite DJ Omar. The previous week saw a sold-out event with Judge Jules headlining, and the final end of summer party takes place on 6th September, with Ultrabeat’s Ian Redman and MC Cover headlining, alongside Tall Paul, and Ibzia sensation Ellie Sax. Dan White, Park Manager, has said:
“It’s so great to see a completely different demographic at Blackgang Chine. Some familiar faces as parents attend without the kids to have their fun, but also lots who probably wouldn’t ordinarily come. The feedback on these events has been amazing, and we are really looking forward to the final one of the season in a few weeks time.”
Tickets are still available and can be found at www.blackgangchine.com.

Yes it was a great night but ridiculous just having 1 bar at this event. Queuing took at least half an hour to get to the bar! If not longer be warned if your going on 6th September!. Even the festival wasn’t this bad! Would not go again because of this! Needs better organisation.
If you’d have voted reform, it would have been much better with 2 bars and free burgers for everybody.
You had your chance. Too late now.
To be quite honest I thought the evening was crap for the money, I won’t be going again.
