UPDATED: The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are attending a trailer fire in Arreton this lunchtime (Wednesday).
An air conditioning unit attached to a cement trailer has caught alight prompting 2 appliances from Newport and Shanklin to mobilise to the scene at Gore Basin.
Thankfully, the George Jenkins lorry unit has been detached from the trailer preventing the fire from spreading.
The alarm was raised at just before 12:45.
UPDATE @ 13:15 – The fire has been successfully extinguished by firefighters using a hose reel.
The trailer unit is said to be empty.
1 fire appliance from Newport remains on scene, with the Shanklin pump now stood down from the incident.
