Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying 3 people who may be able to assist with enquiries into an assault on a man and woman in Newport last month. Shortly after 23:00 on Friday 17th May, a 47-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man were assaulted by 4 people on St James’ Street. The female victim was treated for cuts and bruises and a concussion. The male victim was treated for cuts and a broken tooth. CCTV images have been released of 2 men and a woman who Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary would like to speak to. They are all described as being white and aged in their 20s. The woman is described as slim, blonde, and was wearing a light blue dress and black Converse trainers. The first man is described as average build, he had strawberry blonde hair, and was wearing a grey Nike jacket, dark jeans, and white trainers. The second man is described as average build, he had brown hair and short stubble, and was wearing a grey puffer jacket along with white socks and sandals. UPDATE SUNDAY – Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary says all 3 people have now been identified.
