Officers investigating the theft of a purse from a 79-year-old woman in Newport are appealing for help identifying a male captured on CCTV.
Police want to speak with this individual (pictured above) after a purse was taken from a 79-year-old woman’s handbag in Sainsbury’s Newport on 22nd December 2019.
The purse, which was snake skin patterned and dark coloured, had £60 in cash inside it, as well as a debit card.
Since the purse was stolen, officers have been carrying out enquiries and are now turning to the public for help identifying a man they wish to speak with in connection with the incident.
Do you recognise this man? He is described being white, slim build and in his early 20s. He was wearing a black hat, puffer jacket and tracksuit bottoms, with white trainers.

Come on public somebody must recognize the druggy. My wife works in a supermarket and every day without fail when she is working tells elderly ladies to watch their handbags, which they leave hanging on the trolleys. Unfortunately almost

Why has it taken this long for the police to release these images? This is comparatively quick – only about 3 weeks – but sometimes they hang on to them for months!
