A 42-year-old woman accused of careless driving has appeared in court after a crash involving a car and a motorbike back in November. Lauren Beaumont, of St John’s Road in Sandown, appeared before magistrates on Tuesday morning charged with causing serious injury by careless/inconsiderate driving. The charge relates to a road traffic collision on Broadway on the afternoon of 28th November when Beaumont, driving her Nissan Note, collided with a Honda motorbike – as previously reported by Island Echo. Paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service and officers from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary were called to the scene. The male rider was taken to hospital. The case was unable to proceed yesterday due to the need to await further police evidence. Beaumont saw her case adjourned until 16th January. She was granted unconditional bail.
