A Newport woman has admitted fraud, theft and drug possession after appearing at Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court.
Leanne Braund, 38, of Grove Close, pleaded guilty on Tuesday 22nd July to 3 separate charges relating to incidents that took place in Buckinghamshire during 2024.
The court heard that between 22nd April and 30th June 2024, while working as a careworker, Braund abused her position of trust by defrauding a vulnerable individual out of £4,236.57. The offence was prosecuted under the Fraud Act 2006.
During the same period, Braund also stole a bank card belonging to the victim, committing an offence under the Theft Act 1968.
On 31st July 2024, Braund was found in possession of a quantity of cocaine, a class A controlled drug.
Braund’s case has been committed to Aylesbury Crown Court for sentencing on a date yet to be fixed. She has been released on unconditional bail.

As a care worker she should have known better. I hope she has been barred from care work or work with vulnerable others now
Here Here, care workers need vetting they let the
genuine ones down.
They are vetted! Again read the post she abused her trust. As mentioned before in any job one can abuse the trust and take.
She will be on the DBS
Scum
So which company employed that low life scum?
I wonder who else she ‘dipped’ and went unnoticed?
Its not about who the company employed checks are done its about her abusing the trust if you read the post. Like anyone in any job!
The problem with the care service, they employ so
many unsavoury characters.
“Very worrying”
