UPDATE: A car has slid off the carriageway and come to rest in a precarious position between Shanklin and Ventnor this afternoon (Wednesday).
Emergency services including the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service, Police and ambulance crews are currently attending the incident on the A3055 Cowleaze Hill/Bonchurch Road near Luccombe Chine House.
It is reported the driver is still inside the vehicle, however is not believed to have sustained any serious injuries.
The car, a Peugeot, does not appear to have suffered any severe damage in the incident, however is currently half-on, half-off the road.
UPDATE @ 14:00 – Two appliances from the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service have now left the incident.
Police and paramedics remain on the scene and recovery of the vehicle has been arranged.
UPDATE @ 15:30 – The incident has now been cleared.
