Emergency services are this evening attending an incident in Newport where a vehicle has ploughed into the front of a family home.
Fire crews from Newport are attending the incident alongside Police and paramedics at a property in Sylvan Drive near to Sainsbury’s superstore.
UPDATE @ 20:20 – A silver Vauxhall Corsa has this evening collided with the front of a detached house in a built-up residential area of Newport.
The 60-reg vehicle has left the carriageway before ploughing into the bay window of a modern family home, causing damage to the lower half of the property.
Island Echo understand the female driver has not been seriously injured in the collision. A male occupant of the property received minor leg injuries.
The vehicle is expected to remain in situ until the morning when Mansell’s contractors can thoroughly access the damage.
Two fire appliances from Newport have now left the scene, as well as paramedics.
