As part of the Isle of Wight Council’s traffic management contingency plans, some Council-run car parks will close on Thursday 13th and Friday 14th June.
The closures have been put into place to provide locations, should they be required, to hold traffic in case of any emergencies or incidents on the highway network.
The situation will be closely monitored and it is hoped the car parks will be reopened during the course of each day.
The following car parks will be closed:
RYDE: Appley Car Park and Ryde Canoe Lake
SANDOWN: Fort St Car Park and Yaverland Car Park
NEWPORT: Coppins Bridge Car Park.
YARMOUTH: River Road Car Park will be partially closed, with over 100 spaces still available to the public.
On the Thursday and Friday, long stay permits will be valid in all council long and short stay car parks in Newport only. This does not apply to on-street parking.
