UPDATED: Combley Road in Havenstreet has been closed by Police this evening (Wednesday) following a road traffic collision that has left one vehicle on its roof.
The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service, paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service and Police were called to the scene close to Briddlesford Road at around 16:40.
The road has been closed in both directions and traffic is being diverted.
UPDATE @ 17:21 – No one has been seriously injured in the incident, which has involved a Peugeot 106.
The occupants of the vehicle, two young females, have freed themselves from the car. One person has been treated at the scene.
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service have now left the incident alongside the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service, who were stood down.
As a result of the road closure and a broken down vehicle, traffic is heavy across The Downs. Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.
UPDATE @ 18:25 – The scene has now been cleared and the road has reopened.
The earlier broken down vehicle on The Downs has also been cleared.
