UPDATED: A section of The Downs between Rowlands Lane and Newport Shute has been closed this afternoon (Saturday) after a vehicle flipped onto its roof.
A Green Ford Focus has come to rest on its roof in the hedge lining the carriageway near to Duxmore Farm after colliding with a Peugeot 207.
No one has been seriously injured in the road traffic incident, which happened shortly before 15:20. The driver of the Ford has been taken to St Mary’s Hospital.
The road has been closed to allow recovery of the Mark I Focus with traffic being diverted via Lime Kiln Shute.
UPDATE @ 16:40 – The road has now been reopened by Police.
