UPDATED: Firefighters are responding to a car fire in Carisbrooke this evening (Wednesday).
1 appliance from Newport has been mobilised to the scene on Carisbrooke Road at the junction with Wellington Road. They were alerted to the incident at just before 20:15.
Island Echo understands a yellow Audi S3 has caught fire.
Motorists are advised of likely delays.
UPDATE @ 20:47 – The small fire has now been extinguished with the use of a hose reel.
Thankfully, no one has been injured in the incident.
The road remains open in both directions whilst recovery of the vehicle is arranged.
