Firefighters have this afternoon tackled a car fire in Bembridge, which has totally destroyed one vehicle.
A retained crew from Sandown Fire Station attended the scene near to the Bembridge Sailing Club on Embankment Road shortly before 16:15.
A red Citroen C3 caught ablaze for currently unknown reasons when travelling between Bembridge and St Helen’s.
The road was blocked for a short period while crews tackled the fire, which appears to have started in the engine bay.
Southern Vectis’ Route 8 bus was delayed for a short while.
