The annual Captains Day event took place at Westridge Golf Club on Sunday (15th September).
The event included golf with a twist of Crazee Golf and lots of golfing challenges in the form of a 9 Hole Two Clubs and a Putter Competition.
With the main event being the Fancy Dress, Marc Dempsey as Bananaman narrowly lost to Helen Whittaker. The best dressed Golf Bag was won by Viv Tomlinson.
Nearest the Rope on the 4th was Claire Matejowsky. Longest put on 6th was Steve Hull (9ft plus). Nearest the Pin on the 9th, Dan Thomas.
In the Golf competition, it was Chris Chambers who was victorious, scoring 19pts, despite the challenges. With almost equally amazing scores, Roger Merrifield was 2nd with 18pts, on countback from Dan Thomas, also 18pts.
On a great day with some new players joining in and some old players returning, over £1,200 was raised for the Captains Charity, The Friends of St Mary’s, from the Golf, a Raffle, Beat the Pro on the 7th and an auction.
