A Cabinet meeting scheduled by the Isle of Wight Council to take place tonight (Thursday) has been delayed to a future date to be confirmed.
The council said the decision had been taken as a precautionary and sensible measure after a member of the Cabinet returned a positive LFT test and to allow time for their recent close contacts to be informed.
John Metcalfe, the council’s chief executive, said:
“This decision has not been taken lightly, but with safety of councillors, staff and the public at the forefront of our minds.”
The meeting will be rescheduled for later in the month.

drivel – they all have laptops/pc at home and can all login for a zoom/teams call – not too difficult – just send around the link and make a few phone calls.
let me guess – they don’t get to claim as many expenses for at home zoom/teams meetings
My God! How will we cope?
We haven’t heard from metcalfe for a while, he’s got to do something to justify his extortionate salary
only one word for that…LAME
