Emergency services are this evening attending a two vehicle collision on the A3055 Afton Road which has blocked the diversion route to Yarmouth.
Island Echo understand a small Blue Metro hatchback collided with the rear side of a Route 7 Southern Vectis bus shortly before 16:30, blocking the junction of Afton Road and Middle Road.
A number of Police units are in attendance alongside paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
One female is understood to have received minor injuries.
The incident comes following the closure of Bouldnor Road for geotechnical works, resulting in Middle Road and Afton Road becoming the diversion route for traffic in and out of the town. Motorists are now being diverted via Freshwater Bay whilst the incident is cleared.
