A burglar who struck his victims over the head with 2 wine bottles has been convicted.
Darren Rose, 29, of no fixed abode, forced his way into an address on Cross Street in Cowes armed with the bottles at around 05:30 on 26th October last year.
Rose woke a man in the address before throwing 1 of the bottles at him, striking him in the head, Portsmouth Crown Court heard.
The man, who was known to Rose, was assaulted further with the second wine bottle, before a woman at the address bravely tried to intervene and jumped on Rose’s back.
She was shrugged off and hit in the head with the bottle, before Rose left the scene.
Both victims sustained serious injuries which required hospital treatment.
Rose was arrested later that day and charged with aggravated burglary and causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He denied the offences, but was convicted by a jury following a trial which concluded on Thursday (30th July).
Rose was remanded in custody and will appear at Portsmouth Crown Court for sentencing on 18th September.
Isn’t it amazing how so many people, once arrested, suddenly become “of no fixed abode”. Could it be that they don’t want the police to know where they live in case they find evidence of other offences?
Yet the dim or naive on here always ‘think’ the ‘homeless’ are just ex service men, kicked out of the forces and lovely people, just down on their luck.
Yeah sure, one in a couple of hundred may be decent but unlucky, but the rest are homeless because they are low life, who have been given more chances than most, but always abuse such.
Leave them in the gutters, IF they have any gumption they will pick themselves out of such, if not, then they are beyond hope imo.
Look how vile they have been in Sandown when the ‘homeless’ were given homes due to CV. Just trash which society would be better off without.
how can he denie the offence what a prick he wont get f all anyway useless justice system..
