A boat painted with the striking words ‘Stop Genocide’ down the side, which went aground at Fishbourne yesterday (Tuesday), led to a call out for Coastguards.
It was shortly before 18:00 that HM Coastguard received reports of a vessel aground at the entrance to Wootton Creek.
Coastguard Rescue Officers from Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team were tasked to investigate the situation.
It was quickly established that the sole individual on board did not require assistance, with the vessel aground – but in a safe position – on the beach between Fishbourne and Binstead.

What a shame…
somewhat appropriate, given that the entire stop genocide movement ran aground a long time ago.
Circus left the island months ago. One was clearly keen on returning.
