14 teams of 4 battled blustery conditions at Shanklin & Sandown Golf Club on Monday (4th August) for the Centenary AM-AM competition.
Despite very strong winds making play difficult, golfers produced some excellent scores, with the team of Sue Cox (Ryde), Margaret Butler (Osborne), Di Clark (Freshwater Bay) and Gaynor Oliver (Shanklin and Sandown) topping the leaderboard with an impressive 91 points.
Finishing close behind in second place with 89 points were Nicki Glasgow (Newport), Gill Robinson (Osborne), Jas Royal (Westridge) and Galina Zastava (Ventnor). The team of Sue Thompson (Osborne), Jo Kirby (Ryde), Jane Wilson (Shanklin and Sandown) and Jackie Evitts (Freshwater Bay) secured third with 88 points.
IWLGA President Maggie Ankers presented the prizes alongside Captain Marg Kirby, congratulating all players for their efforts in testing conditions.
