The Slow Motion Sauna – run by Rob Da Bank and his wife Josie – launched in Freshwater Bay last weekend and will be open on Saturdays and Sundays.
Rob and Josie – who have lived on the Isle of Wight for 20 years – are both avid cold water swimmers and the heat therapy of the sauna could be the perfect antidote for those less keen on a swim in the sea.
Explaining the appeal on their website, a statement says:
“Bathing in sauna is a ritual that is hundreds of years old and like another fast growing UK pastime – immersing yourself in cold water, sauna cleans the body and cares for the mind.”
“Leaving your clothes along with your worries (as well as your mobile phone!) at the door is a liberating and truly relaxing experience and can often result in a spiritual high and exhilarated recharge of the batteries.”
Communal and private sessions for up to an hour can be booked on the website and plans are afoot for the sauna to move around different Island locations in due course.

Never mind that, bring back the Bestival!
Yes fully agree, yet the last one here was not so nice because of the ‘sort’ who attended who caused much crime and were in gangs leading off the young and vulnerable wasted girls.
Fortunately all other years the music didn’t attract such and those Bestivals were the most wonderful time, I attended many and were ten times better than the IW Fest.
Bit Potaoes for me, might be alright when it warms up.
Another one of his projects that will move to bournemouth after its mad him mobey HERE firzt nodoubt
Again in English please.
You never told them the first time?
Had a few have we? 🙂
Trying to sound like he has invented the sauna! What a load of old guff.
Oh dear. I don’t like the sound of this private sauna on the beach. Some of those unsavoury types who visit will undoubtedly be “at it” in there. Yuk. They better use plenty of strong bleach afterwards.
Irony is he really did rob the bank but I guess I was late to this one… tell me why is it we feed someone who is willing to call themselves rob da bank like you hate the Tories for it ha hey it’s your money hes taking there not mine lol
