Avenue Road in Freshwater has been closed to all traffic to enable Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks to carry out low voltage repair works.
The main road has been closed from its junction with Avenue Road car park to its junction with the High Street – a distance of 53 metres.
Motorists are being diverted via The Avenue, Colwell Road, Hill Lane, Pixley Hill, Copse Lane, Hooke Hill, School Green Road and Tennyson Road.
The one-way restriction has been revoked between The Avenue junction and Avenue Road Car Park for access.
Island Roads say they are aware of the closure on Wilmingham Lane and hope the 2 diversions will not cause any confusion.
