Isle of Wight Open Studios has announced that registration for artists wishing to take part in the 2026 event has officially opened.
The popular annual celebration of Island creativity will return from 15th–25th May 2026, once again inviting the public to step inside working studios, view exhibitions, and meet artists, makers and creative practitioners from across the Isle of Wight. Solo spaces, shared studios, pop-ups and group exhibitions will all feature in next year’s programme.
IWOS 2026 aims to build on the success of this year’s event, which welcomed more than 150 participating artists and generated over 9,500 studio visits. Feedback from 2025 highlighted the value of Open Studios in strengthening community connections, supporting wellbeing and encouraging people to explore new creative spaces across the Island.
Registration for artists closes at midnight on Sunday 1st February 2026. Those living or working on the Isle of Wight are eligible to take part, and each participant must register individually, even if sharing a studio or taking part in a group venue. A full promotional campaign, an interactive online map and the printed Artist Directory will all return for 2026, with several improvements based on participant feedback.
Artists without a studio—or those interested in hosting a creative at their venue—can contact their local area representative via the IWOS website for further guidance once registration opens.
The event is delivered by a core team of volunteers supported by a wider network of Island creatives, with its scale and impact continuing to grow each year. IWOS plays a significant role in supporting local artists, boosting the visitor economy and promoting cultural participation across the Island.
IWOS Co-Director Georgia Newman said:
“Open Studios is one of the highlights of the Island’s creative calendar. It’s a chance to celebrate our amazing artists, open up hidden creative spaces, and welcome people into the heart of our cultural community. We’re excited to announce the registration dates and look forward to another brilliant year.”
