Teams from across the country are descending on Appley in Ryde this weekend for the men’s and women’s Beach Soccer Super Cups.
The tournament takes place on Saturday and will be played in a World Cup format with qualifying teams going head to head in a knock-out phase before a grand finale on the same day.
14 teams are taking part, featuring 60 women and 80 men, and they include 4-time Island winners Sandown Sociedad as well as teams from Portsmouth, Eastleigh and London.
Matches start at 09:00 and run throughout the day, with the women’s final taking place at 16:00, the men’s at 16:30 and a presentation at 17:00.
Parking is available nearby in the council-run car park or along North Walk and the Esplanade. Parking is also available at Puckpool Park – a short walk away.
