Paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service alongside the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance have this evening (Sunday) attended to a horse rider who was bucked from his horse in Nettlestone.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident near to Caws Avenue shortly before 19:20.
Island Echo understands that the male rider was thrown from the horse, landing on a fence post.
Despite initial fears of a serious injury, the unknown man was taken to St Mary’s Hospital by land ambulance for further examination, albeit battered and bruised.
The horse was not injured in the incident.
The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance were today using a spare helicopter.
