UPDATED: Police are this morning conducting a land and air search for a missing vulnerable woman.
Concerns are growing for the welfare of Rosemary Cross, 59, who was reported missing yesterday evening. She was last seen in the Merstone Lane area near to Rookley at around 16:00.
The assistance of the Sussex National Police Air Support helicopter was requested last night, carrying out an aerial search of the area between Godshill and Rookley at around 23:00.
The helicopter has this morning returned to the scene to assist officers on the ground in the search for Ms Cross.
Rosemary Cross is described as
– White
– 5ft 4″ tall
– Slim build
– Blonde hair to the top of her neck
– Blue eyes
– Wearing blue jeans and white slip-on shoes
Anyone with information about Rosemary’s whereabouts is asked to contact Newport Police Station by phoning 101. In an emergency, dial 999.
UPDATE @ 11:22 – Rosemary Cross has been located safe and well by Police this morning.
UPDATE @ 13:15 – It has been confirmed that Rosemary Cross was safely located in Wootton at 11:30 this morning by a member of WightSAR (Search and Rescue).
