The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has touched down in the grounds of Northwood House this morning (Friday) to assist local paramedics with a life-threatening emergency at a nearby residential address.
Emergency services are on scene at a block of flats on Terminus Road, where the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service has an ambulance crew, a critical care paramedic and an operational commander on scene.
They are being assisted by firefighters from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service.
Due to the severity of the situation, specialist flying medics have been called in.
The yellow and green air ambulance took off from Thruxton at around 09:30 and landed in the heart of Cowes at just before 09:50.
