The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has touched down in Bembridge in response to an emergency in the village this evening (Monday).
Life-saving medics landed at Steyne Park at 19:42, following a short flight from Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham.
They are tending to a patient, alongside the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service, at a residential address on Steyne Road.
UPDATE @ 20:18 – Having spent 30 minutes on scene, the air ambulance team has stood down from the incident.
The helicopter has now taken off and is returning to base at Thruxton, near Andover.
They have not been required to airlift the patient.
UPDATE @ 20:40 – The air ambulance has diverted immediately to its next mission in Bitterne, Southampton.
