Specialist medics from the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance have touched down in Lake this morning (Thursday) in response to a medical emergency at an address in the local vicinity.
The yellow and green helicopter has landed in the playing fields of Broadlea primary school, just as the children arrive at the start of the school day.
It’s as a result of a medical emergency at a residential bungalow on nearby West Avenue, where paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service and firefighters from Shanklin Fire Station are already tending to the poorly patient.
1 ambulance, a critical care paramedic and 1 fire service are on scene.
The incident began around 08:00.
Access to West Avenue and Cherry Side is currently blocked while emergency services deal with the incident in hand.
