UPDATED: The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has the afternoon landed at Quay Road car park in Ryde after being called to assist paramedics.
Emergency services are currently in attendance at the Esplanade Doctors Surgery, where it is understood a patient has been taken ill, requiring the medical assistance of the air ambulance crew from Thruxton.
Two ambulance crews are working alongside their mainland counterparts.
UPDATE @ 17:45 – The patient, understood to be a middle aged female, has been airlifted from Ryde to Salisbury District Hospital.
