The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has once again come to the assistance of an Island resident after it was called to airlift a patient from Ryde this lunchtime (Friday).
Following a medivac request from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service, the red and yellow helicopter landed at Pell Lane near to Ryde Academy at around midday, generating a crowd of onlookers.
The charity, which operates from Thruxton near Andover, took over the care of a middle-aged male, believed to be suffering from cardiac problems.
Less than half an hour after landing the helicopter took off, transferring the local man to the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham, Portsmouth.
