Age UK Isle of Wight is inviting individuals from all walks of life to apply for new Trustee roles as the local charity looks to strengthen its board and continue delivering vital services to older residents across the Isle of Wight.
The independent charity, which has supported the Island’s older population for over 50 years, says it welcomes applicants of all ages, backgrounds and experiences – emphasising that the role is not limited to those who are retired.
The organisation says the input of diverse perspectives and skillsets is key to driving positive change and meeting the evolving needs of local communities.
A spokesperson for Age UK Isle of Wight has said:
“Caring for an older relative highlighted the challenges individuals face as they age. Consequently, I aim to utilise my skills and expertise to contribute to service development and enhance the quality of life for older residents.”
In the past year alone, Age UK Isle of Wight has responded to 9,159 calls for help, delivered 8,800 hours of support to isolated and lonely individuals, provided 30,931 hours of home help, supported 1,155 people with memory loss and dementia, and helped 4,777 residents through hospital discharge services.
The charity is now calling on committed individuals who share its passion for supporting older people to consider becoming a Trustee.
