Isle of Wight batsman Adam Hose enjoyed an impressive Big Bash League debut for Adelaide Strikers in Australia on Wednesday (14th December).
Hose – who has played for Ventnor – made an explosive knock on his first appearance in the competition to help Adelaide Strikers to a 51-run home success over Sydney Sixers.
Batting at No 4, the Worcestershire batsman smashed 40 off just 22 balls – including 3 4s and 2 6s – as the Strikers made 184-6 after electing to bat.
Adam came to the wicket at 97-2 in the 12th over and had a strike rate of 181.81 before falling lbw to a Sean Abbott yorker in the final ball of the innings.
Fellow Isle of Wight professional cricketer Danny Briggs played for the Strikers last season. Unfortunately, he is currently side-lined with a knee injury, which requires surgery.
Hose has also registered for the 2023 Pakistan Super League draft. He is one of 29 foreign players in the ‘Diamond’ category of the competition. The Super League runs from 9th February to 19th March.
