Lakeside Park Hotel recently saw 100 delegates from 58 businesses gather for ‘There’s always more toothpaste in the tube’ – the latest business networking and seminar event from business mentor and acclaimed speaker, Dale Howarth.

The event, held at the end of October, provided a perfect opportunity for those attending to get back to business, through an hour-long reception, meeting fellow delegates and the event’s sponsors in the Oyster Room. Delegates then moved to the Kingfisher Suite to take their seats for Dale’s presentation, which looked at the importance of innovation in business, what it means and how many island businesses have innovated and adapted to achieve greater success.

Jonathan Thornton, Managing Director of PC Consultants and Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce, welcomed those gathered and set the scene for Dale’s talk, during which Dale reflected on innovative Island companies including IFPL, JR Zone and Newport-based Diametric.

Dale comments:

“It was great to see so many from across the islands business community attend my event.

“As always, the reception and networking with delegates and sponsors was a key part with many making valuable new contacts and catching up with old ones. The feedback from my talk and the event as a whole has been amazing, with many now seeing innovation in a new light and motivated by the examples of island businesses that have achieved so much and overcome challenges during what has been a difficult time for many.”

Island Echo publisher Darren Toogood, speaking with Lifeline Alarms and Security, was one of the 100 delegates attending

This latest event follows the success of ‘No marketing budget, so what’s holding you back?’ in 2019 and ‘Practical Lessons for Better Business’ in 2017 and was again sponsored by leading island businesses including BrightBulb Design, Hillbans Pest Control, Island Tea & Coffee, Isle of Wight Jobs, Lifeline, NFU Mutual, PC Consultants, Premier Motors, Red Squirrel Property Shop, Top Mops and WightFibre.

Dale is highly regarded as one of a handful of Accredited CPD Speakers in the country, in addition to having been awarded ‘Provider of Training Excellence’ by The CPD Standards Office based in London. He also works closely as a mentor to a number of leading and up and coming island businesses, helping them to overcome barriers and drive their success.
