Sandown and Shanklin Footpath 59, Ferncliff Path has been closed from its junction with Esplanade to its junction with Ferncliff Road.
The emergency footpath closure is due to a landslip.
The pedestrian diversion route will be signed at the time of closure. Reasonable facilities will be provided to allow access to adjacent premises while the path is closed.
The closure came come into force from 15:30 hours on 6th March 2020, for a maximum period of twenty-one days or until the site is made safe, whichever is sooner.

Like many other ‘temporary’ closures, it will remain, UNLESS the council make cash from it’s use.
We are paying more council tax, but getting less and less, despite more and more homes being built and paying in, ASK yourselves why?
The ‘additional needs’ parents get Government money to pay for their welfare, yet much money is spent by the Council on providing places such as Ryde house, and Haylands farm etc. As well as all these care workers taking these ‘adds’ out for the day.
That should all be stopped.
Osborne steps in Shanklin are are closed having been open for just weeks following months of closure, now this path.
No longer can you walk from Yaverland to Whitecliff Bay or from Bembridge to Whitecliff bay.
Belgravia road in Ventnor is left to collapse.
Just when will this useless IWC actually get something done????
