A Hertfordshire man who admitted possessing over 60 indecent images of children – including some of children as young as 1 – is to be sentenced at the Isle of Wight Crown Court next month.
Cameron Mackenzie, 20, of Northfield in Hatfield, pleaded guilty to 3x make indecent photograph/pseudo-photograph of a child when he appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on Tuesday (10th October).
Lauren Stone, prosecuting, told the court that an upload of some indecent images on a social media platform alerted them to Mackenzie.
On 1st July, Police attended his home address and arrested the then 19-year-old, seizing his mobile phone. Upon examining the phone, a total of 31 images of Category A were found (20 still and 11 moving), 11 images of Category B (9 still and 2 moving), and a further 21 Category C (20 still and 1 moving).
The images had been created between March and July last year here on the Isle of Wight.
The court heard how the subject of the images involved a child as young as 1 year of age.
Due to the severity of the case – and with the Magistrates’ sentencing powers deemed inadequate – the case has been adjourned to the Isle of Wight Crown Court on 8th November. A pre-sentence report is to be compiled.
The 20-year-old has been granted unconditional bail.

he will be safer in jail – he has to spend the rest of his miserable life with this hanging over his head – everywhere he turns, he will be worried that someone will know about this crime of his and attack him. Average lifespan of a man is about 85 – he has, potentially, 65 years of living with this to do – that is some sentence.

Sexual attraction to children may be considered a mental illness by some, but it is nonetheless incurable. Since these perverts can’t be trusted to control themselves and not act out on innocent victims, they should be locked away from society for good.
Saying it’s a mental illness gives people with mental health issues a bad name. It is not a mental illness, it is a choice. It costs too much to jail them for life. We should be killing them, make their executions painful and public. That might serve as a deterrent to others or at the very least protect society and save the taxpayer money.
