UPDATED: Emergency services are understood to have raced to the scene of a reported domestic stabbing in Ventnor earlier today (Wednesday).
An ambulance and a rapid response paramedic from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service were deployed to Ventnor High Street shortly after 15:30 following what is believed to have been a 999 call reporting a stabbing.
Following the concerning report, Police were also sent to the scene and were seen to don blue medical gloves before entering the property above the town’s barber shop next to Tesco Express.
One female has been arrested and one male, believed to be the woman’s partner, was taken to St Mary’s Hospital for treatment. His condition is currently unknown.
Scenes of Crime officers have been forensically examining the property this evening, indicating the seriousness of the incident.
There is no risk to the wider community.
UPDATE THURSDAY: It has been confirmed by Police that a both 51-year-old woman and a 54-year-old man were arrested and taken to St Mary’s Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
The man is reported to have injuries to his arms.
Both persons have been arrested on suspicion of assault and are helping Police with their enquiries.
