The ladies of Shanklin & Sandown Golf Club took to the fairways for their annual Hospice Day earlier this week (11th June). As is customary, the ladies invited one man onto each team and battle was joined in an 18-hole Texas Scramble. The winning team, with a net score of 53 points was Penny Last, Chris Ellis, Julie Miller and Nigel Bishop. Runners-up with a net 55 were Jane Wilson, Lynne Maidment, Lorraine Harley and Philip Nye. 3rd place honours went to Stephanie Hart, Jackie Stephen, Hazel Smith and Howard Smith. Nearest the pin on the 9th was won by Chris Ellis with 99cm. The day raised £673.50 for the Mountbatten Hospice.
